Eating Meat Can Hurt The Environment

A considerable amount of grains, soy and other non-meat items will need to be consumed by an animal to sustain it, so much so that a number of people could have been fed by the same amount. Similarly, to grow the non-meat that is fed to an animal, resources like water and fertilizers must be depleted and often substances that could be harmful are also used to prevent pests from devouring the crops. The amount of space that is necessary to keep fields of food growing to feed animals is actually a lot more than if it were simply growing food for humans. These are just some of the environmental issues to consider with extensive meat eating.

So forget that solar energy home! Just eat less red meat!
